John Greiner’s “SwingShift” Big Band features the music made famous during the immortal Big Band Era of the 1930’s and 1940’s. Music fans of all ages instantly recognize the sights and sounds of the music made famous during World War II.

The swinging rhythms, combined with the vocal styling's of Denis Burgess complete the package, making every performance a night to remember. The finest musicians in the state of Wisconsin join John in recreating the sights and sounds of an era of which there will never be another. SwingShift is comprised of 5 saxophones, 3 trombones, 3 trumpets, piano, bass and drums. The vocals of Denis Burgess complete the setting. Combine the two and you have an incredible combination that authentically recreates all of the biggest hits played by all of the famous bands of the Big Band Era.

An amazingly big sound from a smaller line up than the full sized SwingShift Big Band is what we have to offer. Our music library consists of the classic swing material from the Big Band Era along with the vocals that made this music famous. The size of the band may be smaller, but the size of the sound is anything but small!
An excellent alternative for smaller venues that can't handle the size of SwingShift or when you're looking for slightly more than a jazz trio or quartet. John Greiner's Little Big Band is truly the perfect fit for any occassion!
